Rules of Conduct

(Revised and updated 03/10/2011)

  1. There is to be absolutely no eating, drinking or chewing of gum or other candy in any of the classrooms during class times.

  2. School telephone lines are for the conducting of school business only. These lines are not available for the private use of students during or after school hours except where the use is an emergency or approved by an educator. In such cases, a school educator or administrator must dial the telephone call for the student.

  3. You must arrive to class prepared to do work. This means that you must have with you the supplies you need to work (i.e., pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, calculators, etc.), plus your homework (if any has been assigned), plus any other materials required of you for that day.

  4. If you are absent from class and your parent has not contacted the school, you will automatically receive an un-excused absence on your record. An accumulation of five (5) unexcused absences on any student record is grounds for dismissal.

  5. You must be to class on time. One (1) minute past 9:00 a.m. is considered tardy, and is marked on the record books as such. You will be sent home on the second tardy of any given week.

  6. Except for the purposes of accessing the internet for specific school projects, you are not allowed to use your cell phone during school hours. Lunch time is considered a part of school hours. Violations of this rule may result in the cell phone being confiscated until such time when a parent or legal guardian retrieves it from the administrative office.

  7. IPods, personal listening devices or gaming devices of any kind are not allowed in any class at any time, including lunch. These devices will be sent to the administrative office should you be discovered to have one.

  8. We encourage you, however, to bring a personal laptop for research and assignment purposes.

  9. You may not engage in profanity (bad language) at any time. A student speaking profanely or disrespectfully to an educator or another student will be sent home. We neither have any patience for this, nor do we make any exceptions to this rule.

  10. We do not approve of students making derogatory comments regarding others nor do we approve of jokes or other comments that are made at the expense of another. Courtesy is of the utmost importance.

  11. Students who are chronically disruptive as shown by their disregard for these rules or the General Guidelines will be dismissed from enrollment. A cooperative spirit is of the essence. Additionally, you may not hit, strike, throw something at, or spit or issue spit wads at another student at any time. This alone may be cause for dismissal, but so too is chronic taunting or verbal aggravation. We ask that you mind your manners, and insist others do so as well.

  12. Drugs of any kind, including medications for which we have no written permission on file for you to take, are never acceptable on school grounds. To have them on your person or in your personal items is automatic grounds for dismissal.

  13. Your participation in school fundraisers, school events and school field trips is important. Failure to participate is, to us, indicative of a "no interest" attitude that may affect your continued enrollment in our school.
